The Bowie Produce Company is a second-generation company founded in 1984 by Ben Bowie and his wife Patricia along with the help of their sons. Bowie Produce currently operates 24 hours daily, six days a week.

Operation
We are a wholesale distributor located in Landover, Maryland selling a wide selection of fresh and value-added fruits and vegetables, specialty items, dairy products, juices, deli salads, herbs, dried fruits, and seasonal items. We have a balanced customer base ranging from fine hotels, country clubs and family-oriented dining to institutional foodservice.
Bowie Produce is committed to providing our customers with the freshest, highest quality produce available. We buy from only reputable growers in this country and from around the world. More than 90% of our purchases are from direct suppliers. Along with fulfilling our customer's needs for the basic items in our industry, we offer one of the most comprehensive selections of specialty produce and produce-related items in our region.

 

Fleet
Bowie Produce operates a fleet of 40 fully-refrigerated delivery trucks with complete satellite GPS monitoring as well as a number of smaller refrigerated delivery vehicles for late or "hot-shot" deliveries.

 

Service Area
The Bowie Produce Company serves the entire Baltimore/Washington/Virginia regional area north to Delaware, west to Charlestown, West Virginia, and south to Richmond, Virginia.

 

Food Safety and HACCP Certification
Our facility is 100% refrigerated and adheres to the strict guidelines set forth by the industry to comply with HAACP certification. We conduct bi-annual external NSF audits with Cook & Thurber as well as annual audits by A.I.B. We also require strict adherence to these guidelines from our vendors as well.
